Chips & Changes
Design, fabrication, and tour installations of 2,500 sf. traveling exhibit about the history and social impact of microelectronics. It included over 40 interactive demonstrations. Topic areas included social impact, paperless office, automation, health & medicine, machine logic, chip manufacture, and more. Its two-year tour of nine American museums was extended to include an additional five appearances, then long-term installation at the St. Louis Science Center.
Project funded in part by a grant from NEH. Sponsored by Intel, Hewlett/Packard, DEC Computers, Kodak, Apple Computers, Atari, and others. Association of Science-Technology Centers, client. It opened at the Exploratorium in March, 1984.
