Justice Learning Center

Design and fabrication of 3,500 sf. permanent exhibition about law and justice in Michigan’s then newly completed Hall of Justice on the State Capitol Mall. One of the first exhibits about law and justice in the U.S., the Center features an interactive courtroom. Here, computer interactives invite users to take on such key roles in a trial as juror, witness, plaintiff’s attorney, judge, and more. Each station poses problems each faces, promoting understanding of how justice works in America.

Numerous other interactives in the Center encourage discovery of such legal topics as legal search, voting practices, sentencing and parole, alternative dispute resolution, court-supervised diversion programs, Indian rights and tribal sovereignty, and more. Michigan Supreme Court, client. Michigan Museums Association recognized this project’s excellence with an Institutional Achievement Award in 2003. Opened October, 2002.
