Netherlands Gallery
A stunning collection of over 50 original Dutch paintings capture the spirit of the Netherlands from the 1590’s to 1910. The 1,700 sf. gallery re-creates the feeling of a 16th century country house in the Netherlands. Carefully collected artifacts which closely resemble depicted objects bring scenes in the paintings “out of the frame” and into the gallery. Text explains the meaning of each painting.
More, this gallery demonstrates the deep roots of the American spirit in Netherlands culture. It has received wide media coverage and received Michigan Museums Association’s Award for Institutional Excellence. Netherlands’ ambassador to the U.S. delivered a keynote address at the opening. Holland Museum, client. Opened April, 2007.
